Perfect nutrient boost for RAW diets
Life is all about finding and achieving balance - work and play, exercise and relaxation, good food and junk food - and this is true for dogs as much as humans. Today's dogs are getting a lot of meat, at times way too much meat with higher protein foods (no grains, more meat), dried meat and organ treats, meat bones, meat feet, and meat tendons to chew. All that meat, meat, meat can result in a very unbalanced diet, and that can mean ill health, obesity, and poor digestion. Our dogs may share genetic material with wolves and other wild dogs, but hundreds of years of domestication and breeding have stretched that connection pretty thin and distant. Our sweet, huggable, kissable, designer couch potato pooches couldn't live on the diet a wolf has, and they don't need to. Your dog needs a balance of meat, good grains, veggies, fruits, and healthy fats, to be that super player and pooper. Zuke's Supers are one great way to add healthy grains, fruits and veggies to your dog's diet, and they won't even know it (they're too busy enjoying the treat to see it's healthy). It's an easy way too - simply open the bag, grab a few, and offer up to your happy pup.
Additional ideas for a balanced diet: you can add a scoop of cooked pumpkin or squash to their food, or some cooked peas, kale or green beans, or maybe a few slices of banana or apple on top. For fats, you can add a spoon of flax seed oil, or some coconut oil, or some Grizzly Salmon Oil (see last blog post). There's tons of ways to add some great nutrition to your dog's kibble, dehydrated, canned, frozen, or raw diet.
The idea of living in balance is also why Amelia Biscuit Company offers both meat and vegetarian treats, and both varieties contain healthy, organic grains like spelt and millet meal. We want your dog living in balance, and enjoying it too!
At Amelia Biscuit we bake the happy into healthy dog treats.
